Abstract:

Based on the hypothesis that highly succulent plants in their entirety could be compared with fruits, the correlation between their special formation of shoots, flowers, thorns, fruits and leaves is investigated by means of selected cacti. Special attention is paid to the question of the nature of the stars of thorns. Finally, their morphological relationship to both flowers as well as the leaf blade becomes apparent. The certainty of the existence of harmonious compensatory relationships and the impulse to search for them result from the self-conception of thinking which can be observed during the process of comparing the different forms. The latter can replace the anthropomorphic assumption of organisms, which in their design pursue strategies in the struggle for existence
