Goetheanistische Ansätze für die Unterrichtsmethodik am Beispiel der Geometrie

Abstract:
Biological questions, historical-symptomatological investigations, or literary-aesthetic forms of judgment are each based on very specific phenomena. The cognitive method of phenomenological thinking is affected by the object to be considered. They call for a different framework of treatment, which is related to the specifics of the subject. This is especially true for geometric relationships. This specific content will be considered hereafter. The pedagogical context in general is characterized and positioned as a task of our time. After that, the ’Goethean approach’ in geometry is discussed and analyzed with the help of a practical teaching sequence. What does this approach consist of? What are concrete teaching actions that can help to achieve this? Is the Goethean approach suitable for initiating learning processes in the classroom? It will become clear that a kind of workshop character for geometry lessons can be considered as a beneficial contrast to mere explanatory teaching.
